Terms of service.
When you send us a hide or buy one of our rugs you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:
All tanning is done at the customer’s own risk. Due to the factors involved in the quality of the original product we assume no responsibility or guarantee any of the results of the process. Initial factors affecting a hide can but are not limited to molting, shedding season, condition of the animal, climate conditions, lack of knowledge from the butcher or farmer resulting in cuts, holes and rotting. While we make our best attempts to return a quality product, we are also not responsible for hides that end up overly matted from washing.
When sending hides to be tanned it is your responsibility to ensure they have been salted and stored correctly according to our instructions.
The tanning process uses sharp blades and tools. We make our best attempts not to damage your hides. Should accidental damage occur during the process we hold no responsibility.
We will do our best to remove stains and livestock markers from your fleeces. As we don’t use harsh chemicals, solvents or bleach, understand that all efforts to remove these stains may not be 100% effective. Please consider this before sending your hides.
Due to the process not using chromium or bleach, finished rugs will never be bright white in color due to residual lanolin in the fleece. This may actually turn a golden hue over time with exposure to UV light such as a window. The leather is also free from any treatment and may dry out if placed near a heat source.
All skins are the property of Living Sky Farm until paid in full. If payment is not received within 30 days of notification, hides become the property of Living Sky Farm.
We reserve the right to charge more for skins that are abnormally dirty or full of vegetation.
All skins are tracked through the process with a unique tag number.
